In case you missed it, you can also read my deep-into into why Madrid is finally being recognised as one of the world's finest cities: Read it here.
A while back I listened to a podcast by The Economist called, Madridland. Here, Lane Greene, The Economist’s Spain correspondent described Madrid as “a place for living. It’s alive.” He said that “A recent history of Madrid was branded as a biography, as though it were a person, and that was appropriate.”
For the latest La Comunidad podcast, I am joined by the author of that very “biography,” Luke Stegemann. Luke is an Australian writer, professor, and cultural historian and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to him talking about the different eras of Madrid and why the city is enjoying such a magnificent moment.
Enjoy!
